Overview

The Warrior (WAR) is one of the six starting vocations and focuses on sustaining damage and hindering enemies. They provide high HP, physical power, and defensive power, but don't have access to spells and have low agility.

Strategy

The Warrior's specialty lies in being able to hinder enemies with their unique skills. Their exclusive Attack Attacker and True Attack Attacker skills are very important, as they can reduce the amount of damage enemies can deal by quite a significant amount by lowering their attack stat and their overall damage dealt. Their Body Slam and Charge Tackle skills can completely stun enemies, allowing for set-ups or a chance to recover in tougher battles. With Axes, you'll have access to the exclusive Scrap Mettle+ skill that can lower an enemy's attack, defense, and action interval. The unique Earthshatter+ skill can also increase all damage dealt to enemies it hits. Brave Charge is an important skill to keep in mind as well. While active, it reduces the charge time of your charge time skills by 20 seconds, allowing you to use your more powerful skills more often. Be sure to keep this buff active as much as possible.

Warriors have high HP and defense, making them obvious front liners. They can assist in walling, but won't be as good at it as the Paladin since they are not as heavy. When equipped with a Shield, they have access to an improved version of Whipping Boy that allows them to take damage in place of another party member while still being able to move and execute other actions.

Recommended Armor Sets
Armor Set Explanation
#1 Demon Guard Armor (Level 120) Set bonus increases special charge rate by 1%, making it easier to use your Special skills.
#2 Mirror Armor (Level 108) Decreases damage taken by 10, and has a chance to reflect spells back.
#3 Marquis Armor (Level 110) Useful for trying to reach 100% breath resistance. Also useful for increasing offense.

Warriors are in a bit of a tough spot when it comes to endgame content. Higher difficulty bosses are usually very resistant to ailments and stuns, which are core to the Warrior's repertoire. This means that many superbosses at higher strength levels will not have room to use a Warrior in a party composition. They also struggle in Banma Tower by not having access to quick and powerful area-of-effect skills. Most bosses in Origin Vault Panigalm do not require the mechanics of a Warrior either.

That being said, Warriors are still a formidable vocation and are useful for coin bosses, Astoltia Defense Force, and Dark Deity's Palace.
