The Guardian's (GRD) (ガーディアン) strength lies in defending allies, using the power of light to defeat their opponents. They were introduced in Version 6 as new kind of vocation called 'Master Class', a new way to call the Advanced Vocations from previous Dragon Quest games. They can use Swords, Greatswords, Spears, and Shields. Guardian's starting level is 100 and their exclusive skill tree is Selflessness (てっぺき Teppeki).
Strategy
Pep Power
As opposed to previous vocations, Guardians don't have any Coup de Grace (or Special move), they can reach a new state called "Pep Power" (ゾーン技 Zone Waza) exclusive for Masterclass vocations and unlocked after completing certain quests. During this state, stats will increase according to your vocation and you'll be able to use Pep Skill, the Pep status lasts a certain period of time.

Vocation Quests
As Guardian is a Master Class, there are several prerequisites necessary to complete before they can be unlocked.
- Reach level 100 on both the Warrior and Paladin vocations.
- Complete all of the Warrior and Paladin vocation quests.
- Complete Quest 34 and Quest 130.
- Complete all of the Skill Master Quests.
